Delilah Resolves to Help Feed 50,000 Children and Their Families This Year

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 7, 2012)--Delilah, the most-listened-to woman on American radio, has a goal this year to help 50,000 children and their families across the nation by providing food and essentials in partnership with hunger relief organization Feed The Children.

Across more than 200 affiliate stations, the radio personality will ask listeners to help her provide food and essentials throughout the year. The donations will go to support Feed The Children's Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has served more than 325,000 American families in the past two years.

"If you have spent a single night with me in the studio, you would hear the calls I receive from mothers who struggle to make ends meet and have to make a decision between paying rent or buying food for their family," said Delilah. "Feed The Children helps feed families across the nation every day. The organization will be the arms and legs to help reach families who need our help."

Feed The Children works with community-based agencies to deliver food and essentials, including personal care items, to families. A $20 donation helps to feed a child for a month.

"With Delilah's love for children and her philanthropic background, we cannot think of a better advocate for the children," said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children. "Our hope is that her listeners will be inspired to join the fight against child hunger, which is now in everyone's backyard."
